Aaron is a 16 year old boy that goes to school at Fox Senior High in Arnold Missouri. He is currently in the 11th grade. He has a renal (kidney) disease know as "H.U.S.", or Hemolitic Uremic Syndrome. He is a patient at Children's Hospital in St. Louis. He has had this disease since he turned 1 year old. He has done quite well until the middle of last year when his kidney function dropped to a serious low. He had to work very hard to keep his grades up since he has dreams of going to college as a "normal" student. Aaron is currently on dialysis and is at the hospital 7 days a week receiving treatment to help him make it until we can find a donor match. He will be unable to return to school on a regular basis. He is a hard worker and a great trooper. He participates in such school clubs as Student Council and FCA. Aaron has a 4 year old sister and both parents who worry about him on a regular basis. We all wish we could "Just make him better" as his sister says. Aaron has started the official testing for transplant and we are still looking for matches. We are looking for someone, over the age of 18 with an 0+ or o- blood type. For more information, they can call 314-454-2409 and ask for the paperwork to fill out to be a possible kidney donor for Aaron and can also get questions answered there. Aaron is still not doing so well. He has been having some vision troubles and is currently not able to read. In November, Aaron received his transplant. For more, see the Aarons Transplant progress page. |
